Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison falls national park, upon arrival at Entebbe international airport on day 1 of the 7 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park which is located in north western part of Uganda. On the way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary the only place in Uganda that harbors white rhinos. You will spend some time tracking rhinos at the sanctuary where after you will proceed to Masindi for lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey to Murchison falls national park and upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 2 of the 7 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view various wildlife including lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, Jacksons hartebeest, view different bird species, enjoy beautiful views of the sunrise among others. After the game ride you will return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to Paraa landing site for an amazing boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 to 3 hours you will be able to spot aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles, other animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes which gather to drink water and aquatic bird species like hornbills, cormorants, bee-eaters, kingfishers, fish eagles among others. After the boat ride you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
On day 3 of the 7 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour, you will have early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s a whole day journey and on the way you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the countryside, landscape, Rwenzori mountain ranges, crater lakes, tea plantations, Lake George among others. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth national park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 4 of the 7 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will be rewarded with great views of different animals including elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs among others which will be grazing in the open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas looking for a morning hunt if you are lucky, view bird species among others. After the game drive which takes about 3 to 4 hours you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Afternoon boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to the landing site near Mweya safari lodge for an interesting boat cruise along the Kazinga channel a water channel that joins lake Edward and lake George. during the boat cruise you will be able to spot large concentrations of hippos in water, Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, view buffaloes, elephants, antelopes among others drinking water along the shores, water birds like squacco heron, black crake, open billed stork, pied kingfishers, fish eagles, white backed pelicans, long tailed cormorants, African jacana, spur winged plovers among others. You will also be able to see fishermen on the shores preparing their fishing gears for night fishing and after return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast on day 5 of the 7 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is located in the southwestern part of Uganda. On the way you will pass through Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park where you will get a chance to spot the famous tree climbing lions which will be lying up in fig, acacia tree branches staring at the prey. After the game drive in Ishasha sector you will have lunch where after you will continue the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking, after an early breakfast on day 6 of your tour you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and start trekking in the jungle with an experienced guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest. Trekking of mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, birds, mammals, butterflies, different plant and tree species among others and once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them feed, groom young ones, breastfeed, play, observe their habits, behaviors, take photos and record the moments. After the gorilla trekking experience you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on day 7 of your tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver to transfer to Kampala. On the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the Kigezi hills, rolling hills, beautiful landscape and a stopover at Igongo cultural centre for lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey with another stopover at the Equator where you will take photos, buy souvenirs and then proceed the journey to Kampala where you will reach in the evening. Upon arrival you will be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
