Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from Entebbe international airport to Bwindi impenetrable national park
- Fly from Entebbe international airport to Kisoro: On day 1 of 6 days fly in Uganda gorilla trekking safari, you will be driven from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe direct to Entebbe international airport or Kajansi airfield to catch up with your flight that sets off from Entebbe at 07:00am and arrive in Kisoro at 08:10am for tourist who intend to trek in the southern part of the park (Rushaga and Nkuringo gorilla trekking sectors) and for those intending to trek gorillas in Buhoma and Ruhija sector, they need to fly to Kihihi air strip which offers 3 flights from Entebbe international airport throughout a day. Upon arrival, you will meet with another safari driver waiting for you for a pickup and drive from Kisoro airstrip to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will check-in at your booked hotel for lunch. Depending on your interest, you may relax at the lodge or opt for a community walk to visit the neighboring community members or even have a batwa experience. Return to the lodge from whichever activity you choose, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
- Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: After breakfast on day 2 of 6 days fly in Uganda gorilla trekking safari, pack your snacks, drinking water and wear your best gorilla trekking gear to meet your safari guide and be driven to the gorilla trekking trail head for briefing about gorilla trekking by the rangers. You will spend about 30 minutes to 7 hours or even more depending on how fast these gorillas move depending on the location where they were spotted the previous evening. Trek back to the trail head to meet your guide for a drive back to the lodge for a check out and be transferred to Mgahinga gorilla national park for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Mountain gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park
- Mountain gorilla trekking in Mgahinga: After breakfast on day 3 of 6 days fly in Uganda gorilla trekking safari, another day with gorillas awaits you in a different park. Pack enough drinking water and some snacks just like the previous day then meet your safari driver for a ride to the trail head where you will be briefed by the rangers about the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking and finally penetrate the park in search of the gorillas that have been habituated and ready for trekking. Trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park is less tiresome due to the nature of the terrains that is easily to trek through. After spending a longtime searching for gorillas in the park, you will only spend one hour with them and trek back to the starting point to meet with your safari driver to be transferred back to the lodge for a meal. You may spend your evening on a guided forest walk to explore different parts of the park on foot alongside local guides.
Day 4: Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park
- Golden monkey trekking: On day 4 of 6 days fly in Uganda gorilla trekking safari, have your early breakfast at the lodge, then be driven to Ntebeko gate for a pre golden monkey trekking briefing. By 8:00 am, the briefing is done and the walk into the forest commences as you tirelessly search for the golden monkey troop that has already been habituated for trekking. Trekking these golden monkeys takes about 1 hour to 5 hours or even an entire day depending on the movement of golden monkeys and the trekking speed of the slowest person in the group. One hour is the maximum duration required to stay in presence of these primates then trek back to Ntebeko for a drive back to your lodge for lunch.

Day 4: Full day excursion on Lake Mutanda
- Explore Lake Mutanda: After breakfast on day 5 of 6 days fly in Uganda gorilla trekking safari, meet your safari driver to be transferred to Lake Mutanda where you are expected to spend a full day exploring the beauty that lie in the wilderness close to Bwindi impenetrable national park about 1 and a half hours walk from Kisoro town. While at Lake Mutanda, there is a whole lot of things to do including a cane ride, a nature and relaxation. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Fly back to Entebbe international airport
