The 5 days luxury gorilla habituation safari is an amazing flying safari that will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is the most visited gorilla destination located in the southwestern part of Uganda.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to a hotel in Entebbe

Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide, who will brief you about the safari and then transfer you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Get an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your domestic flight with Aerolink Uganda to Kisoro Airstrip. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will find your driver guide waiting for you to transfer to the Rushaga sector in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will check in for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla habituation briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle, which takes a whole day. During trekking you will be able to view other wildlife species, other primates, a variety of bird species, and different plant and tree species, among others.

Once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat, which gives you an opportunity to learn and monitor their habits and behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, engaging in the naming process, taking photos, and recording videos.

After the encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla habituation and later meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Guided nature walk and Batwa cultural tour

After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an interesting guided nature walk where you will be able to get up-close and personal with different wildlife species, listen to sweet sounds of birds singing in trees, and enjoy views of plant and tree species and waterfalls, among others.

After the nature walk, you will return to the lodge for lunch, where after you will go for a Batwa cultural tour, where you will be able to learn about their culture, lifestyle, and way of living; visit their homesteads; learn about their hunting and gathering skills; and enjoy their local dishes, traditional entertainments, and others.

After the Batwa cultural tour, you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure flight to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the Kisoro airstrip for your domestic flight to Entebbe International Airport.
