Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison falls national park- Rhino tracking

Kampala – Murchison falls national park: On day 1, be ready for a pickup either from your location with in Kampala the capital city of Uganda or from Entebbe international airport in case you arrive on the day of your safari. However, you need to arrive as early as possible at least before 10:00am to create enough time for a transfer to Murchison falls national park which requires about 6 hours road drive. On the way to Murchison falls, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for white rhino tracking and then proceed to Masindi town for en-route lunch. After lunch, you will continue to the park and upon arrival, you will drive directly to the top of falls where you will enjoy a cool breathe from the water fall and later head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls

Morning wildlife viewing safari: On day 2, you will be served with an early breakfast and then head out of the lodge for a game drive with in the largest and oldest national park in Uganda that harbors the most powerful waterfall in the whole world. During the game drive in Murchison falls national park, you will be able to view a good number of wildlife species including the big 4 game (Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, leopards) and other mammals such as Uganda kob, giraffes, warthogs, Jacksons hartebeest and different bird species. After game drive, return for a lunch break at the lodge and embark on an afternoon boat cruise upstream to the base of Murchison waterfall for an opportunity to watch closely the magnificent waterfall. Keep the eyes at the shore as well for an opportunity to view several wildlife including Hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, water birds among others. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Murchison falls park to Kibale forest national park

Transfer to Kibale forest national park: Arise in the morning for breakfast on day 3 of the safari, check out of the lodge and start a journey from Murchison falls national park to Kibale forest national park a primate destination in Uganda thrilling with 13 species of primates. Along the way, you will have a stopover for lunch while dinner will be served at the lodge after check in.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park: After breakfast on day 4, carry your drinking water and put on your favorite gear to be transferred to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu Visitors Center for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. After briefing, you will head into Kibale forest in search of the habituated chimpanzees where you will also encounter with other primates that reside in the forest such as olive baboons, red tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Bush babies, Patas monkey, blue monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, Black and white Colobus monkeys and many more. The forest also harbors mammals, birds, butterflies and plants making your trek more fruitful. After spotting the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour with them and later on return to your lodge for lunch break as you prepare for an evening guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland which is basically enjoyed by birders due to existence of several species of birds including the Great Blue Turaco.

Day 5: Drive from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth national park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park: Enjoy your breakfast at leisure on day 5, you will check out of the lodge, meet your driver and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth national park a home to the tree climbing lions and the Kazinga channel. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure or go for an evening game drive in the park where you will be able to spot different animals. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning Game drive & afternoon launch cruise in Queen

Game drive and boat cruise: Breakfast will be served in time, meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kasenyi plains where you will spend your morning hours on a fascinating game drive amidst wildlife species such as buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kob, birds, and enjoying the thrilling vegetation cover within Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth national park. After game drive, head back to the lodge for lunch and set off for a thrilling afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where a school of hippos and Nile crocodiles are seen. Be sure to watch other wildlife including those seen in game drive as they visit the shores to quench their thirst due to hot scotching sun in the afternoon hours. Day 7: Lion tracking experience in Queen Elizabeth national park

Lion tracking experience: After breakfast, set out for a fascinating lion tracking experience which is only done in Queen Elizabeth national park in order to help tourists get an opportunity to get closer to the king of the jungle in their natural habitats. This experience involves use of trackers to easily allocate where the lions are with the help of armed and experienced park rangers. During lion tracking experience, you will also encounter other wildlife species such as leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob and many other fauna and flora species that thrill within the park. After the lion tracking experience, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Drive in Ishasha sector & transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Game drive in Ishasha sector and connect to Bwindi: On day 8, breakfast will be served in the morning there after check out of the lodge and meet your safari driver to head to Ishasha sector where your last game drivee in Queen Elizabeth national park will be conducted to look out for the tree climbing lions. You will watch these lions as they hung lazily in the acacia tree branches overlooking the grazing Uganda kob if you are lucky. Take your time to take photographs and later on have your en-route lunch. After lunch, you will drive out of the park and start the drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the largest population of the endangered mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: You will have an early breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing where you will find other trekkers. During briefing, you will be told about what to expect in the home of gorillas, the dos and don’ts and finally hire a porter to start the long walking trails in search of habituated mountain gorillas which takes about 1 to 8 hours depending on their movement and the fitness level of the trekkers. once the gorillas are located, you will spend one hour with them and later return to the lodge, freshen up and relax as you wait for dinner and overnight or else you may have an option of Batwa experience in the evening after gorilla trekking.

Day 10: Transfer from Bwindi to Lake Mburo national park

Transfer to Lake Mburo national park: Enjoy breakfast at leisure, check out of lodge to embark on a road drive to Lake Mburo national park. You enjoy an en-route lunch in Mbarara city then continue your journey to the park and upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for an evening relaxation, enjoy your dinner and have an overnight.

Day 11: Walking safari and afternoon boat cruise

Walking safari and afternoon boat cruise: Lake Mburo national park offers the best walking safaris in Uganda therefore after breakfast, you will spend your morning hours exploring the park via different trails on foot. This offers you an opportunity to get closer to zebras, giraffes, Uganda kob and other several wildlife species within the park. After walking safari, you will enjoy your lunch at the lodge then spend your afternoon cruising on one of the 5 lakes in Lake Mburo national park as you watch wildlife including mammals and birds along the shores of the lake. Day 12: Early morning game drive & transfer to Kampala for departures
