Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the hotel in Arusha
Depending on your arrival time at the airport on the first day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then transfer to the hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park-game drive
After having an early breakfast at your hotel on the second day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Tarangire National Park which is known for harboring large herds of elephants and also the ancient baobab trees. Upon arrival, you will go for game drive in the park where you will be able to spot animals like elephants, zebras, waterbucks, gazelle, impalas, view various bird species among others. After the game drive, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area, Ngorongoro crater drive
After breakfast on the third day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you will drive to the Ngorongoro crater where you will descend 600 meters into the crater for a game drive where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, wildebeests, elephants, dik dik, lions, leopards, hyenas among others, you will also be able to view bird species like the flamingos among others. After the crater drive, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti national park en-route game drive
On the fourth day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast, checkout of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti National Park with en-route lunch and stunning views of highlands, scenery, traditional homesteads among others on the way. Upon arrival in the park, you will proceed to the lodge with a game drive en-route, evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 5&6: Full day game drives in Serengeti national park, optional hot air balloon
After an early breakfast on the fifth and sixth day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to north Serengeti for a game drive which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive. You will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, various bird species among others, explore the Mara River where you will be able to see the Mara River crossing if you are lucky. You will have a picnic lunch in the wilderness and then proceed with the game drive where after you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Departure to Arusha
On the seventh day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha with views of animals on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the hotel for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Flight to Zanzibar, Stone Town tour
On the eighth day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the airport for your departure flight to Zanzibar airport. Upon arrival, you will be picked by our driver guide and transfer to the hotel for lunch where after you will relax at the hotel and later go for a city tour in Stone Town, learn about the history and then return to the hotel for Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Prison Island and spice tour
After breakfast on the ninth day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel, take a private boat to Changuu Island/ Prison Island where you be able to see the old giant tortoises, learn about the history and then take a boat back to stone town for lunch. After lunch, you will go for a spice tour where you will explore the spice plantations where they grow different exotic spices like cinnamon, cloves, know the uses of the spices, get to buy some among others. After the spice tour you will transfer to Nungwi and upon arrival, you will connect to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Safari blue experience
On the tenth day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will have an early breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to go for the safari blue experience where you will sail in the traditional Dhow boat, enjoy the boat tour on the island with clear and safe water, beautiful scenery, enjoy the delicious sea food and drinks, tropical fruits and snacks, visit Menai Bay, engage in snorkelling among others. After the safari blue experience, you will transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Zanzibar Beach experience and swimming with the turtles
On the eleventh day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast at leisure and later transfer to Baraka Aquarium where you will be able to feed and swim with the turtles. You will later return to the hotel for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure relaxing at the white sand beaches of Zanzibar with stunning views of the Indian ocean. Dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Departure
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 12 days luxury Tanzania safari, you will check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Zanzibar airport where you will be dropped off for your departure flight which brings your safari tour to an end.
