7 Days Best of Uganda and Rwanda

The 7 Days Best of Uganda and Rwanda gives travelers the safari experience of a lifetime with unforgettable memories. This one-week safari takes you to explore both Uganda and Rwanda. Safari destinations including Queen Elizabeth national park , Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Volcanoes national park

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park (Uganda)

Upon arrival, you will meet our company representative for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Have a stopover at the equator for photography as a symbol to show that you crossed the equator, have lunch en route and then proceed with a scenic drive to the park.

Day 2: Game drive and afternoon Launch cruise

After an early morning breakfast, the driver guide will take you for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi area in search of wild animals such as Lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and many more. You will also take a visit to the Katwe explosion craters, see how salt is traditionally mined, return and have lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along Kazinga channel that rewards sights of Hippos, Crocodiles and a variety of Water Birds like the black bee-eater and several species of falcons, Pied king fishers among others.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda)

After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest via the Ishasha sector, well known for its tree-climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi with Lunch en route and reach the park late afternoon for a check-in at your selected lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking adventure

After early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch, where you will be briefed about the gorilla trekking activity. Later, proceed to the forest in search of the mountain gorillas; this will take about 1-8 hours. On meeting the gorillas, expect to spend an hour with them while taking photos and videos. On return, depending on the time available, you may decide to have a nature walk to the Batwa people (Pygmies) where you will enjoy their different cultural practices.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes national park (Rwanda)

After morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Volcanoes national park through the Katuna border. Enjoy the dramatic views of the Virunga volcanoes en route. Reach early enough for relaxation and preparation for the next day’s activity.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking/ Golden monkey trekking and a Nature walk

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas and later ascend into the forest for the second gorilla trekking experience.

Alternatively, you may choose to track the golden monkeys, as this rewards views of other primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, Olive baboons among others. In the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk to the twin lakes or visit the iby’lwacu cultural village.

Day 7: Kigali city tour and Departure

After breakfast, you will conclude your 7 days Best of Uganda and Rwanda by a drive to Kigali for a city tour. Visit the museum, Genocide memorial grounds and many more places. Later transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
