5 Days Uganda & Rwanda Combined Safari
5 Days Uganda & Rwanda Combined is a fabulous trip that takes you to Volcanoes National Park for some gorilla trekking and later on move to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for yet another sensation of gorilla trekking.
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National park (Rwanda)
You will be picked from your hotel in Kigali or the airport on arrival to start off the 5 days Uganda & Rwanda Combined by our Driver/guide and drive north to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri, a home to 360 Mountain Gorillas.
Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorillas view Hotel/ 5 Volcanoes Lodge (Luxury)/ Gorilla Solution Lodge, Le Bambou Lodge (midrange)/Muhabura Hotel (Budget)
Day 2: First Gorilla Tracking
In the morning at 7:30am, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your gorilla trekking gears and drinking water and packed lunch. Your driver guide will transfer you to point at which the gorilla trail into the forest begins. It may take between 1 to 8 hours to encounter the gorillas.
You will be free to take photographs and remain in their presence for a maximum of an hour. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
Dedicate your evening to a nature walk or visiting the Ibyiwacu Cultural Village for Rwanda’s cultural heritage and practices.

Day 3: Dian Fossey hike and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
In the morning, you will continue the 5 days Uganda & Rwanda Combined as you gather at the park headquarters for a briefing. You will hike up to the Karisoke Research center, established by Dian Fossey, an American primatologist who dedicated all her life to conserving the lives of mountain gorillas until she was killed and is buried there next to Digit, a mountain gorilla.
You will learn more about the lives of the mountain gorillas at the research center.
On return, you will cross over to Uganda and drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla lodge (mid-range)/Chameleon Hill Lodge or Buhoma Community Haven (Luxury).
Day 4: Second gorilla tracking
In the morning, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the wild.
Meet and stay with the habituated mountain gorillas for at least an hour. As you exit the forest, your tour guide will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge for relaxation / lunch. In the evening, you may visit the nearby the Batwa community.
Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla lodge (mid-range)/ Chameleon Hill Lodge (luxury), Buhoma Community Haven (Luxury).
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast transfer back to Kigali to conclude the 5 days Uganda & Rwanda Combined safari. You may enjoy a city tour of Kigali (optional), including a visit to the local market, museum, and Gisozi genocide memorial center, to mention a few, if time allows before your flight.
Your safari guide will drop you at the airport for a scheduled flight back to your next destination.
