Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale forest national park

Transfer to Kibale forest national park: On day 1 of 12 days best of Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking and wildlife safari, you will be picked up by our company representative either from your hotel in Kampala or direct from Entebbe international airport as soon as you land and start the journey to Kibale forest national park where will arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest and guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland: After breakfast on day 2 of 12 days best of Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking and wildlife safari, you will be driven direct to Kanyanchu where the park headquarters for kibale forest national park are situated. You will participate in a briefing with other trekkers and later on after briefing start the journey in Kibale forest to search for habituated troop of chimpanzees which you will spend an hour with. During chimpanzee trekking, you will be in position to encounter with other primate species including baboons, Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, Pottos, bush babies and many other primate species that reside in kibale forest since it’s a home to 13 primates. After trekking chimpanzees, you will trail back to Kanyanchu to meet your safari driver and finally return to your lodge for lunch.
As soon as lunch is done, you will set off for an evening guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary which is one of the best birders paradise and also a best destination to find different botanical plant species. A guided nature walk you take you in this wetland on foot while encountering several primates, mammals, birds including rare shoebill stork and several species of plants where some plants will be identified as medicinal plants used to treat several diseases. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After the walk return to the lodge for lunch and finally check out to start the journey from Kibale forest national park to Queen Elizabeth national park the famous destination known for harboring the rare tree climbing lions and the huge population of Crocodiles along the kazinga channel.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Game drive and boat cruise: Breakfast will be served very early on day 4 of 12 days best of Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking and wildlife safari then meet your safari driver and start the journey to kasenyi plains where you will enjoy a fascinating game drive in thrilling vegetation cover of kasenyi plains. You will watch plenty of wildlife including lions, elephants, Uganda kob, buffaloes, and several birds among others. After the morning game drive, you will be driven back to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, meet your safari driver again and be transferred to kazinga channel where you will cruise for about 2-3 hour on top of kazinga channel the best place to view a huge population of crocodiles. Keep on a look at the shores for an opportunity to watch other mammals that visit the kazinga channel in search of water including buffaloes, elephants, hippos and other aquatic wildlife.

After the game drive, you will enjoy your lunch under the tree shade and finally exit Queen Elizabeth national park to start a drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi: Have your breakfast in time on day 6 of 12 days best of Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking and wildlife safari, pack drinking water, snacks, and lunch box then be driven to the assembly point for a briefing, porter hiring and later on start the long trail in the forest looking for habituated gorilla family for trekking.
