The cost for a gorilla permit in Uganda is 600 USD, Democratic Republic of Congo its 400 USD and Rwanda is 1500 USD. The vegetation covers are destroyed when clearing trail paths, the gorillas always get stressed when there many people.

Local community development is also essentia and the roads are constructed, piped water is provided, health centers and education facilities and many more are provided all these add to why gorilla trekking is expensive.

Monitoring and safety of the Mountain Gorillas; They are given security where by money is needed to pay the rangers and guards, Doctors and many more. If mountain Gorillas are not given any security they are poached, trapped, trafficked and killed by human beings.

There only three countries in the world where the mountain Gorillas are inhabited. There is a high demand for Gorilla permits throughout the year you’re always advised to book 8 months in advance to avoid last minutes.
