After the briefing you will be divided into groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and an experienced park guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest. Trekking of mountain gorillas takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where they gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. Best time to go for a gorilla trekking safari in Uganda
Gorilla trekking in Uganda can be done anytime throughout the year though the best time is during the dry season in the months of June, July, August, September, December, January and February. During the dry season the gorilla destinations receive little or less rainfall in the park therefore vegetation will be thin which makes wildlife viewing easy and gorilla trekking trails will be dry and passable compared to the wet season when the trails are muddy and slippery which make trekking difficult.
