Uganda Wildlife Education Center
Uganda wildlife education Center, commonly known as Entebbe zoo was established in 1952, by the government of Uganda. The park was established for wild animals, the orphaned animals, sick injured animals and animals confiscated from illegal trade.
Uganda Wildlife Center in 1960s was named the Zoo till currently. The name zoo still rings in many Ugandans and actually it is easily identified as the Zoo. The zoo at that time kept a number of species with various attractions such as tigers, bears and many more.
Uganda Wildlife Authority in May 1994 took over the zoo as a conservation Education service.
Uganda wildlife center is located at the edge of Lake Victoria and the area is rich in vegetation with a number of bird species, mammals, butterflies and any animals which makes it a pleasant place for everyone.
Uganda Wildlife is located in Entebbe town, also the home of Entebbe international Airport which was established in 1947.
Uganda Wildlife Center is a fun and exciting place to see a number of Uganda and African wildlife to learn about the ecosystems, learn how they live, play, eat, walk, live and many more.
The Wildlife center in Entebbe was created by the government of Uganda with the help of the Wildlife conservation center. When you visit, yo are able to see a number of Debrazza monkeys, Vervet monkeys, about 300 bird species, African Eagle, Great Blue Turaco, Hammerkops, Giant kingfishers and many more.
This Wildlife center is a place where wildlife education is combined with leisure. Learn about the ecosystem of the country in the open area at the wildlife center and also learn about the botany of many traditional medicines.
When visiting the park make reservations and arrive early to ask the program you prefer and also ask the directions to the animals.
General rules about the Uganda wildlife center include a warning where monkeys are all over the zoo and so you should keep away food and drinks stuffs. Also as you visit the center, be sure to carry a camera with enough batteries for memorable pictures, carry a mat and a picnic chair of your choice. You can as well carry kids bikes at no extra cost and do not leave valuables in the car .
The park has a number of animals including; lions, elephants, kobs, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, hynas, Bushbucks, Rhinos, black and white colobus monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, olive baboons, chimpanzees, Cheetahs, leopards, birding, shoebill stork, peafowl, ostrich, African fish eagle, Gaboon viper snakes, Egyptian, cobras, African Rock python.
