
Uganda Gorilla Safari
Uganda Gorilla safari takes a maximum of three days to finish your Gorilla safari. The safari starts from Entebbe international Airport to Bwindi Impenetrable National park and Mgahinga national park. The trip takes four hours from Kigali international airport to Kigali and drive to the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
Uganda Gorilla safari allows you to visit the remaining 600 Gorillas in the world both in Bwindi Impenetrable National park and Mgahinga National park.
The safari takes a whole day to Bwindi Impenetrable national park from the capital Kampala. You will have a stopover at the equator and stand on both ends of North and South Part of the imaginary line of latitude (Equator).
Bwindi Impenetrable National park has four gorilla trekking sectors including Nkuringo, Ruhija, Buhoma and Rushaga and a gorilla permit allocates you to which sector you will trek.
When you arrive in the country on a Uganda gorilla safari a tour operator will pick you up from the hotel for a gorilla safari and you will start your journey to the park headquarters.
A uganda gorilla safari takes a maximum of 30 minutes to 7 hours in the forest to meet them face to face. Remember these are wild animals and they keep moving from one place to another. You are given one hour to spend with the mountain Gorillas. As soon as the rangers finds them, you will be able to see them as they feed, play, interact with each other, groom each other, build their nests and many more. During the gorilla safari you will see a number of things including Bird species, primate safari, mammals and many more.
During the Uganda Gorilla trekking, as soon as you see the mountain gorillas, you are only allowed to stand 7 meters away from the mountain Gorillas and you will be with the rangers and guides in the forest.
On course of the Uganda Gorilla safari tour, you are reminded that mountain Gorillas are endangered gentle primates and very shy animals, however they can attack incase harmed since they are very strong animals that can injure a person.
For the Uganda Gorilla safari, one needs to be physically fit, to hike through the trails of the jungle for Gorilla trekking. Note that the forests are rainy, muddy, slippery and that you will need a lot of physical fitness and many more. Some of the Mountain Gorilla families located in the sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
During the Uganda Gorilla safari you will need to carry long sleeved clothing, bottle water, walking stick, jungle boots, rain jackets, gloves, packed lunch which you will get from the lodge.
After your Gorilla safari in Uganda the evening time, you can decide to use it for charity, visit the community area of the Batwa people and Bakiga communities offer charity and as well learn a lot in a place away from home including ways of preparing food, dancing, playing, singing, take care of the baby and many more. The minimum age for Gorilla safari in Uganda is 15 years of age, the Uganda Wildlife Authority always considers passports before issuing a gorilla permit to anyone. That is why you’re always advised to send your bio data page of your passport as a requirement to book your Uganda Gorilla safari.
A mountain Gorilla permit to the forest in Uganda that inhabit mountain Gorillas is charged at a cost of 600 USD to Rwanda the pack headquarters it’s a cost of 1500 usd.
