Gorillas and Chimpanzees, are the biggest primate species. Gorillas share 95% DNA with humans well chimpanzees 90% DNA. Uganda as a country has a big number of primates than any other East African country. Gorillas and chimpanzees are mostly inhabited in Uganda the pearl of Africa.
Gorillas and Chimpanzees are part of the number one attraction in Uganda. These primates are found in both Mgahinga national park and Bwindi Impenetrable National park. There are 14 gorilla habituated families and one family is in Mgahinga national park and the rest in Bwindi Impenetrable National park. These families are all used to living close to human beings as they continue with their day to day activities.
Gorillas and chimpanzees visits are restricted to each family group visited by 8 people which means there only 8 permits sold to each family per a day.
