Are mountain Gorillas dangerous animals? , many people have this question whenever or before they go for Gorilla trekking. Mountain Gorillas are wild primate species that inhabit in Africa in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Mgahinga National park in Uganda, Volcanoes National park in Rwanda and Virunga National park in Congo.
Mountain Gorillas share 98% with human beings there the largest primates in the world. Mountain Gorillas inhabit the mountain areas of the rain forest. In Uganda their 12 gorilla families that have already been habituated, the 11 inhabit in the four sectors of Bwindi impenetrable National park the oldest and largest national park in Uganda, and the sectors include, Rushaga, Ruhijah, Buhoma and Nkuringo.
Mountain Gorillas are very shy and reserved animals to people, they always attack but only when threatened, or if one person misbehaves in any wrong way.
When trekking the mountain Gorillas and they suspect any unexpected movement, the silverback male reacts with great roar, beating their chest and bluff charges. The gorilla will run at a high speed and will stop in front of the human at a distance of 1 meter.
However a person might misbehave and react up but we advise one if attacked by the Gorilla crouch down and look at the ground and after show interest of grooming the gorillas hand as you smack your lips until when help arrives.
Do not run away this may cause the gorilla to attack you and even more gorillas are stronger than any human and they always want to feel giants. When you tend to run away the mountain Gorilla will bite you, he may hold a bite of your leg, buttocks, hand this results into a big wound.
