8 Days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari : The 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari is an exciting adventure that will take you to different destinations including Volcanoes national park in Rwanda where you will be able to spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat during gorilla trekking experience. The 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari will also take you to Ngorongoro conservation area and Serengeti national park in Tanzania where you will be able to enjoy views of different animals like elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hippos, zebras, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeests, elands, cheetahs, gazelle, dik dik among others.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes national park
Depending on your arrival time at Kigali International airport on the first day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then go for a short city tour in Kigali where you will be able to visit the Kigali genocide memorial Centre, Kimironko market, art Centre’s, museums among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch and later start the journey to Volcanoes national park. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive and on the way you will enjoy views of the rolling hills, traditional homesteads, landscape among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Ibyi’wacu cultural tour
Gorilla trekking,
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, you will carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be divided in groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about gorilla trekking trails Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on their location and during trekking you will be able to view different bird species, other primates, plant and tree species among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be able to spend one hour with them which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, behaviours, habits, take photos, watch them carry out their daily activities and record the fascinating memories to show people back home.
After a breath-taking encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your guide and then meet up with your guide to go for an interesting Ibyi’wacu cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the local people in the community, learn about their culture, history, listen to their ancient stories, visit their homesteads, enjoy their traditional performance among others. After the cultural tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali for your flight to Arusha
After breakfast on the third day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and later transfer to Kigali International airport for your departure flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be picked by our driver guide and transfer to the hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area, Ngorongoro crater drive
After breakfast on the fourth day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, you will check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. Upon arrival, you will drive to the Ngorongoro crater where you will descend 600 meters into the crater for a game drive where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, wildebeests, elephants, dik dik, lions, leopards, hyenas among others, you will also be able to view bird species like the flamingos among others. After the crater drive, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti national park en-route game drive
On the fifth day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, you will have breakfast, checkout of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti national park with en-route lunch and stunning views of highlands, scenery, traditional homesteads among others on the way. Upon arrival in the park, you will proceed to the lodge with a game drive en-route, evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6 & 7: Full day game drives in Serengeti national park, optional hot air balloon
After an early breakfast on day 6 and 7 of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to north Serengeti for a game drive which takes about 2 to 3 hours drive. You will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, various bird species among others, explore the Mara River where you will be able to see the Mara River crossing if you are lucky. You will have a picnic lunch in the wilderness and then proceed with the game drive where after you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure to Arusha
On the last day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha with views of animals on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
