You can go on an East African safari all year round, though the best time is during the dry/peak season in the months of June to October and December to February because during this period there is less rainfall in the national parks; therefore, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking trails will be passable, and vegetation will be less, which makes wildlife viewing easy, and it’s also the best time to spot the great wildebeest migration in Kenya and Tanzania.

What to pack on your East African safari

Travelers planning to go on an east African safari, there are a number of items that you should carry including warm and cold clothes, long sleeved shirts and trousers, light rain jacket, pairs of stocking, hiking shoes, gaiters, garden gloves, sunscreen, personal toiletries, camera and extra batteries, face mask, hand sanitizer, a hat and sunglasses, a pair of binoculars, insect repellent, backpack among others.
