Ruzogo Lodge is a new mid-range accommodation found in the Ruhijha sector on the edge of the world’s famous Bwindi Impenetrable national park (The home of endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda). The lodge is the perfect base for nature lovers. The name of the lodge came from a gorilla group family called Oruzogo. The lodge is near the trekking point Perfect for adventure.
How to get there
One can be at the lodge by road taking approximately 8 hour drive (540km) from kampala via Mbarara and Kabale, or a one-and-a-half-hour flight from Entebbe to the close Kihihi airstrip, then an hour to be transferred to the lodge. The lodge has a calm and beautiful natural environment with a breathtaking view from the forest and surrounding areas.
About the lodge
Ruzogo lodge consists of over 5 elegant and comfortable cottages with a view of the canopy forest, built in African traditional style with local wood with Comfortable proximity. The lodge offers single beds for individuals and double beds for sharing, as well as family /group rooming options.
Each room is well decorated, elevated on a wooden platform and furnished with high-standard of facilities such as mosquito nets, satellites, extinguishers, en-suite flushing toilets, hot and cold running showers, complementary bottled water, free toiletries, etc.
Rooms have terraces, sitting areas and wooden balconies where you can relax while enjoying the stunning, breathtaking view of the canopy forest and surrounding areas.
Rooms have excellent and clean Comfortable bedding and a fireplace with comfortable chairs where guests relax and share stories/experiences about the safari; it also provides warmth to the guests during the night.

– A restaurant in the main Building that serves different food types, both local and continental, to meet clients’ appetites served by well-trained and organized staff. They serve Breakfast while facing the forest, Lunch, and both indoor and outdoor dinner.

-A blue water swimming pool that cools off the hot afternoon, especially after trekking on summer days; you dip yourself in the pool overlooking the breathtaking views of the park.

ABOUT THE PARK.
Bwindi forest Impenetrable national park is the best and most visited national park in the southwestern part of Uganda in the Kanungu district. The park is the home of over 19 endangered mountain gorilla groups in the park. The park occupies the total area of 330.8 square kilometers. There are more than 600 mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park of which 19 gorilla families are habituated.
The park consists of 4 different sectors namely; Nkuringo sector, the Rushaga Sector , the Buhoma sector and Ruhijha , where gorilla trekking takes place. The lodge is found in Ruhijha Sector, which is the home of three gorilla families namely; Bitukura , Kyaguriro and Oruzongo. Nkuringo and Nyakagezi can also be tracked while staying in the Ruhijha location. Ruhijha sector is the best and most visited sector, with beautiful view of the forest canopy compared to other sectors, thus making up Bwindi Impenetrable national park

There are more than seven hundred and eighty-six mountain gorillas in the whole world. Uganda holds close to half of their total population, and the majority of them live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, whereas the others are found in Mgahinga national Park. Bwindi Impenetrable national park has different accommodations in all sectors: Budget , Mid- range and luxury accommodations.
The best places to visit Bwindi impenetrable national park is Feb, March , June, July, September, October, and December. There are many activities to do while in the park include; Gorilla trekking experience, a gorilla habituation experience, a Batwa trail, a cultural experience (traditional dances) bird watching, nature and forest walks, community tours in bwindi forest, Visiting lake bunyonyi and lake mutanda , golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga national park and many other activities.
