
Gorilla Hill Eco Lodge
Gorilla Hill Eco Lodge is a mid- range accommodation found on the edge of the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable national park hills Uganda region. The lodge is situated on one of the four entry points of the park on the high ridge overlooking the beautiful views of the surrounding areas. The lodge is situated close to the tracking point, in the perfect base for getaway into Bwindi impenetrable national park (the home to the almost half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the whole world for Gorilla Trekking activity. One can be at the lodge by road transport from Kampala / Entebbe which takes about 9-10 hours ‘drive to the lodge and 1-2 hours flight from Entebbe international Airport to the close Kisoro airstrip then few minutes to be transferred to the Lodge .
Gorilla Hill Eco lodge is comprised of 8 spacious and comfortable rooms overlooking the park that reflects African building style with comfort .Rooms are well decorated , elevated and furnished with tranquility and en suite private facilities of flushing toilets, bathroom hot and cold showers , mosquito nets, free toiletries , slippers, hair driers, complementary bottled water and many more facilities . Rooms have a large sitting areas and private balconies overlooking the breathtaking views of the beautiful Forest canopy and surrounding farm landscape. Rooms have excellent and clean Comfortable poster bed with clean and washed beddings. Rooms vary in Different sizes with single bed for individuals, double bed, and twin, triple and family rooming option. Rooms cost 250$ and above per person per night, sometimes rate goes lightly high in peak season than i low season.

A restaurant that serves different food both local and continental food that meets clients appetite served by well trained, friendly and organized staff. Meals include; A Breakfast in the room/gardens while facing the forest, Lunch, 3 three course dinner both in and out door dinner.
A well- stocked bar with a shared lounge with both hard and soft refreshments, you relax in terraces and sip the cocktail while overlooking the canopy forest, African landscape and surrounding areas,

Activities to do while at the lodge include; gorilla trekking since the park is known for mountain gorillas, birding/ bird-watching in the park , nature walks in the local village.
Bwindi forest Impenetrable national park is the best and most visited national park in south western part of Uganda . The park is the home of more endangered mountain gorillas over 19 gorilla groups in the park. The park occupies the total area of 330.8 square kilo meters. There are more than 600 mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park of which 19 gorilla families are habituated . The park consists of different 4 sectors namely; Nkuringo sector, Rushaga Sector , Buhoma sector and Ruhijha sectors where gorilla trekking takes place. -Ruhijha Sector is in the eastern side of the park and the home of Four gorilla families namely; Bitukura , Kyaguriro , Mukiza and oruzongo Families . Ruhijha sector is the best and most visited sector with beautiful view of the forest canopy compared to other sectors thus making up Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
-Buhoma Sector is in the Eastern part of Bwindi national park the home of Four habituated gorilla families namely; Mubare gorilla family, Habinyanja, Rushegura and Katwe gorilla families. Mubare is the oldest gorilla famile in Buhoma sector to be trekked by tourists in 1993.
-Rushaga Sector is located in southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable national park and the home of Five gorilla families namely; Mishaya, kahungye ,Nshongi , Busingye and Bweza families . Rushaga sector also has 2 gorilla habituation experience families of Bukingi and bushaho .
-Nkuringo sector; Is found in the southern part of the park and home of Three gorilla families that includes; Nkuringo , Bushaho and Christmas family. The lodge is in southern sector one can track in Rushaga or Nyakagezi sector while staying at the lodge Gorilla permit in bwindi is at 700$, in July 2024 it will be 800$. There are more than seven hundred and eighty six (786 ) mountain gorillas in the whole world . Uganda hold close to half of their total population, and the majority of them live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, whereas the others are found in Mgahinga national Park. Bwindi Impenetrable national park has different accommodations in all sectors; Budget , Mid- range and luxury accommodation . The best place to visit Bwindi impenetrable national park is Feb, March , June, July , September, October and December . There are many activities to do while in the park including gorilla trekking experience, gorilla habituation experience, Batwa pigmies trail , cultural experience (traditional dances), bird watching/birding since the park has over 150 bird species , nature walks in the forest, community tours in bwindi forest, Visiting lake bunyonyi and lake mutanda , golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga national park and many other activities.
