Activities offered at Albertine Gorilla Campsite-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Gorilla trekking experience; This activity is quite interesting and starts early in the morning with a short briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. After you will be grouped with your assigned gorilla family to trek and be led by a park ranger to the forest trails to look for the gorillas, an activity which can take 30 to 7 hours while the search for them but the moment you find the gorilla family an hour is given to you to watch them as they play, feed, nest, hunt, behave as you enjoy memorable photography for your future remembrance.
Birding; While at stay –Albertine Gorilla Campsite like those who are bird lovers you can go birding on interesting trails of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home to over 348 bird species 23 bird species are endemic species and 14 species can be spotted nowhere else in the country thus making it a great place for birders. Some of the bird species to see include; Black bee-eater, Shelley’s crimson wing, Dusky twin spot, Black-billed turaco, Doherty’s bush shrike, Brown-capped weaver, Mountain yellow warbler, Kivu Ground-Thrush, Yellow-streaked Greenbul, Grey cuckoo-shrike, African Green Broadbill, Black Bee-eater, Rwenzori Nightjar, Handsome Francolin, Red-throated Alethe among others.

Visit Batwa Cultural; After the gorilla trekking experience, you can go visit the ancient people of the forest who used to live with the great mountain gorillas and could feed on both fruits of the forests in harmony and peace. Visiting the Batwa you will get to interact with them, enjoy their amazing story, be entertained by their traditional dance, and learn how they prepare food in their traditional manner among others.
Forest walk; This is also an exciting activity that takes you through different stunning trails to explore and learn about the historical information about the forest. The activity can take about 3 to 4 hours.
The lodge sits in the southwestern Uganda region in Kisoro district in the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which can be accessed from Kampala or Entebbe within a 9 to 10 hours drive. Another option, you can fly from Entebbe International Airport by domestic flight –Aerolink Uganda to Kihihi Airstrip which takes 1:30 minutes to land.
